I don’t have to tell you that applying for scholarships to help pay for college is important.
Thing is, if you and your teen aren’t scholarship-savvy, the money that’s out there can completely pass you both by. (And believe me…there’s PLENTY of scholarship money out there if you know how to find it!)
That’s why I’m offering my best resources for helping your teen find and apply for scholarships. The tips below will help to get you started on the right path.
1| Scholarship Application Organizer Worksheet
First things first: get organized. With thousands of scholarship options out there, we need a way to keep things in order.
Use my Scholarship Application Organizer Worksheet. It’ll help your teen to keep track of which scholarships she’s applying for, what criteria each scholarship requires, award amounts, when deadlines are and what she needs to submit to be eligible.
2| Scholarship Search Engines
These powerful websites ask your teen to identify characteristics, activities, strengths, skills and interests and other personal factors. Once entered into the system, the search engine matches your teen with a list of scholarships that she may be eligible for.
These are my two preferred online search engines for teens, because they’re reputable, keep information private and the scholarships are updated regularly:
3| Articles to Help You Motivate Your Teen to Apply for Scholarships
